Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 thick cut pork chops
- 3 cups day-old bread cubes
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons chopped celery
- 2 tablespoons chopped onion
- 1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/3 cup water
Instructions
1
Acquire all necessary ingredients and prepare the oven for cooking. Preheat your oven to a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius, if your oven uses metric measurements).
2
Heat a generous amount of oil in a large skillet over a medium heat setting. Add the pork chops to the skillet and cook until they develop a nice brown color on both sides, taking approximately 4 to 6 minutes per side; then transfer them to a suitable baking dish.
3
In another bowl, combine the bread cubes, melted butter, chicken broth, chopped celery, sliced onion, and poultry seasoning. Mix these ingredients well together until they are evenly distributed.
4
Spoon generous amounts of the prepared stuffing mixture onto the pork chops. Combine this with a can of condensed soup and water, mixing them together until you have the desired consistency. Pour this mixture over the stuffing and pork chops.
5
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil to prevent excessive browning during cooking.
6
Place the prepared dish in your preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil after this time and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until the juices run clear.
7
To ensure the pork chops are cooked to a safe temperature, insert a meat thermometer into the center of one of the chops. The reading should be 145 degrees Fahrenheit (or 63 degrees Celsius, if your oven uses metric measurements).
