Mushroom Goat Cheese Tarts
Ingredients
  • 1/2 sheet puff pastry
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 pound mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese
  • 4 teaspoons finely chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
2
Next, lightly coat a baking tray with oil or cooking spray to prevent the pastry from sticking.
3
Take out the puff pastry and roll it out onto a surface dusted with flour. Cut the pastry into 8 equal squares using a sharp knife or pastry cutter.
4
Using a fork, create several small holes in each of the pastry squares to help them cook evenly.
5
Place the prepared pastry squares onto the baking sheet, making sure they don't overlap each other.
6
Bake the puff pastry squares in the preheated oven for 7 minutes, or until they start to rise and become slightly golden.
7
Remove the baking tray from the oven and use a flat spatula to gently flatten each square, making sure they are even.
8
Return the puff pastry squares to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
9
Simultaneously, melt butter in a hot skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced mushrooms and minced garlic to the skillet, stirring occasionally until the mushrooms are tender.
10
Remove the skillet from heat and set it aside to cool slightly.
11
Evenly distribute the cooked mushroom mixture over the baked puff pastry squares. Sprinkle shredded goat cheese and chopped parsley over the top of each square.
12
Serve the warm puff pastry squares with mushroom mixture, goat cheese, and parsley.
