Mozambique Shrimp
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 10 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 (12 ounce) can beer
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 3 (1.41 ounce) packages sazon seasoning with saffron (such as Goya® Azafran)
  • hot sauce
  • salt to taste
  • 1 pound large shrimp, shells left on
  • 3 cups cooked white rice, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
1
Heat a large skillet over medium heat, allowing the butter to melt and become fluid. Introduce sliced onions and minced garlic into the skillet, cooking them until they reach a tender yet pale state, approximately 5 minutes long.
2
Combine the beer, white wine, Sazon seasoning, hot sauce, and salt in the skillet, stirring to create a harmonious blend. Bring this mixture to a rolling boil before gradually decreasing the heat and allowing it to simmer for 15 minutes.
3
Add the shrimp to the skillet, cooking them until they turn a vibrant pink hue, taking around 3 to 4 minutes. Introduce cooked rice into the skillet and allow it to heat through, approximately 5 minutes later.
4
Stir in some chopped parsley to add a pop of freshness and color to the dish.
