- 1 tablespoon beef bouillon powder
- salt and ground black pepper to taste

- 1 pound lean ground beef

Begin by combining diced potatoes, sliced carrots, chopped onion, sliced celery, minced garlic, fresh parsley, and basil leaves in a substantial soup vessel. Pour in sufficient water to submerge all the ingredients. Cover the pot and bring the mixture to a rolling boil; continue cooking until the vegetables start to become tender, approximately 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat.

Crumble ground beef into small pieces and add it gradually, stirring between each addition to prevent lumps. Return the pot to high heat and re-heat the mixture until it reaches a rolling boil again. Lower the heat and cook at a gentle simmer, allowing all the ingredients to be fully cooked through and the meat to lose its pink color, taking around 15-20 minutes.
