Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons miso paste
- 2 tablespoons mirin (Japanese sweet wine)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 tablespoon oil, or as needed
- 1 pound salmon fillets
Instructions
1
Heat a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring periodically to prevent burning, until sesame seeds turn a rich golden color. Monitor their transformation closely and remove the saucepan from heat once they have reached this desirable state.
2
Combine miso paste, mirin, soy sauce, grated ginger, and honey in a small bowl. Thoroughly mix the ingredients until they are well incorporated.
3
Add toasted sesame seeds to the bowl and blend them into the mixture.
4
Position an oven rack approximately 6 inches above the heat source and preheat the broiler to its highest temperature. Line a baking pan with aluminum foil and lightly coat it with oil.
5
Coat the salmon fillet evenly in the miso sauce mixture and place it skin-side up on the prepared baking pan.
6
Place the salmon under the broiler, keeping a close eye on it, and cook until it flakes easily with a fork, requiring 10 to 15 minutes of cooking time.
