Ingredients
- 30 crushed peppermint hard candies, divided
- 1 1/2 pounds milk chocolate candy, coarsely chopped
- 1 1/2 pounds white chocolate, chopped
- 1 teaspoon oil-based peppermint flavoring, or to taste
Instructions
1
Gather all necessary ingredients beforehand
2
Cover the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking pan with wax paper to prevent sticking
3
Spread approximately one-third of the peppermint candies evenly across the prepared baking pan.
4
Melt the milk chocolate in a double boiler, carefully heating it over just-barely simmering water while continuously stirring and scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula to prevent burning, until it reaches a fully melted state.
5
Pour the melted milk chocolate over the peppermint candies in the prepared pan, followed by another layer of approximately one-third of the peppermint candies on top.
6
Place the pan in the refrigerator to allow the chocolate to harden, which should take around 30 minutes.
7
Melt the white chocolate in a double boiler, heating it over just-barely simmering water while continuously stirring and scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula to prevent burning, until it reaches a fully melted state.
8
Add the oil-based peppermint flavoring to the melted white chocolate and mix well.
9
Pour the melted white chocolate over the milk chocolate layer, followed by a final layer of approximately one-third of the peppermint candies on top.
10
Once again, place the pan in the refrigerator to allow the white chocolate to harden, which should take around 30 minutes.
11
Cut or break the hardened candy mixture into desired pieces to serve.
12
Serve and indulge in your delicious creation!
