Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup frozen corn
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups prepared instant mashed potatoes
- 3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions
1
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the beef and onion until it is nicely browned, breaking up the meat into small pieces as it cooks. Remove from heat and discard any excess fat that has accumulated during cooking.
2
Switch to low heat and combine the beef mixture with a can of condensed soup, frozen corn, ketchup, and black pepper. Continue to cook until the mixture is warm throughout, about 2 minutes.
3
Divide the beef mixture into four round baking pans and cover each pan with a layer of mashed potatoes. Arrange these pans on a baking sheet.
4
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake until the potatoes are lightly golden brown, approximately 15 minutes.
5
Move the rack in the oven about 6 inches closer to the heating element and preheat the broiler.
6
Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over each of the beef-filled baking pans.
7
Place these pans under the broiler and cook until the cheese is melted, around 2 minutes.
