  • 1 (1 pound) loaf cocktail rye bread
  • 1 cup thousand island dressing
  • 1 1/2 pounds deli sliced corned beef
  • 1 (16 ounce) jar sauerkraut, rinsed and well drained
  • 1 pound sliced Swiss cheese

Preheat the oven's heating element to its highest setting.

Arrange thin slices of rye bread on a baking dish. Spread a moderate amount of dressing, specifically designed for sandwiches, evenly over each slice. Fold a portion of the corned beef to fit snugly within the bread, and place it on top of the dressing. Cover with a small amount of fermented cabbage, then add a slice of cheese that is roughly the same size as the bread.
