Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 1/3 pound ground beef
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 24 wonton wrappers
- 1 3/4 cups grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 3/4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup pasta sauce (such as Muir GlenĀ®)
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil, or to taste
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, or 190 degrees Celsius.
2
Prepare your muffin tin by spraying it with cooking spray to prevent the wonton wrappers from sticking.
3
Heat a large skillet over high heat and cook the beef until it is browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. This should take around 5 to 7 minutes, and season the beef with salt and pepper during this time. Remove any excess grease from the skillet.
4
Cut out circles of wonton wrapper using a biscuit cutter, making them 2 1/4 inches in diameter.
5
Press one wonton wrapper into the bottom of each muffin cup, followed by a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese. Add an even layer of ground beef on top, followed by a spoonful of pasta sauce.
6
Divide the remaining ingredients among the muffin cups and layer them in the following order: Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, ground beef mixture, and pasta sauce. Repeat this process with the remaining wonton wrappers.
7
Finish each "cupcake" by sprinkling a layer of Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese on top.
8
Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake until the edges are browned, taking around 18 to 20 minutes.
9
Once done, let the "cupcakes" rest in the tin for 5 minutes before running a knife around the edges to loosen and remove them.
10
Garnish your "cupcakes" with fresh basil leaves before serving.
