Ingredients
- 1 (8 ounce) package spaghetti
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 (16 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
- 1/2 cup butter, sliced - divided
- 1 (8 ounce) container cottage cheese
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 (8 ounce) package shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Instructions
1
Acquire all necessary ingredients and preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
2
Boil a substantial quantity of salted water in a large vessel until it reaches a rolling boil. Cook spaghetti in the boiling water until it is fully cooked but still retains some firmness, approximately 8 to 12 minutes. Drain the pasta.
3
Simultaneously, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook beef until it is browned and crumbly, taking around 5 to 7 minutes; discard any excess grease.
4
Transfer the cooked beef to a bowl and combine it with spaghetti sauce.
5
Place half of the butter slices at the bottom of a 9x13-inch casserole dish. Spread half of the cooked spaghetti into the dish.
6
In a separate bowl, blend cottage cheese, cream cheese, and sour cream together; spread the resulting mixture over the spaghetti.
7
Cover the dish with the remaining spaghetti and top it with the remaining butter slices.
8
Pour the ground beef mixture over the spaghetti in an even layer.
9
Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Sprinkle Cheddar cheese over the top and continue baking until the cheese has melted and is lightly browned, taking around 15 minutes more.
