- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Acquire the necessary components.

Put the popped popcorn into a large paper bag with brown coloring.

Mix together the brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup, vanilla flavoring, and salt in a microwave-safe container or dish. Heat it for 3 minutes, then thoroughly blend the mixture with a spoon until everything is well combined. Heat it for another 1 and a half minutes.

Take the brown sugar mixture out of the microwave oven and thoroughly incorporate the baking soda into it.

Pour the entire mixture over the popcorn in the bag, then fold the top edge of the bag once or twice to seal it partially. After that, give the popcorn a good shake to evenly distribute the sugar mixture.

Place the bag back into the microwave oven and cook for 70 seconds. Shake the bag, flip it over, and then cook for another 70 seconds.

Transfer the popcorn out of the bag onto a sheet of waxed paper and let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes until the sugar coating is set.
