- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 1/2 cups uncooked couscous
- 1/4 cup raisins

Preheat a large saucepan over medium heat, warming the butter until it's melted and ready to use. Sauté the carrots and onion in the saucepan, stirring frequently as they start to tenderize and the onion becomes translucent, approximately 5 minutes. Introduce the chicken broth and water into the saucepan, causing the mixture to reach a rolling boil. Combine the couscous with the boiling liquid, ensuring it's well incorporated to prevent any clumps from forming. Cover the saucepan and take it off the heat source, allowing the couscous to absorb the remaining moisture, roughly 5 minutes.

Add the raisins to the saucepan and serve the dish immediately, hot from the stove.
