  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, onion, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Incorporate the 1/4 cup of tomato soup using your hands until the ingredients are well combined and a cohesive mixture forms. Form the mixture into two distinct loaves.

Heat a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat and sear the meatloaves in it until browned. Then, decrease the heat to medium and cover the skillet with a lid to allow for gentle cooking. Continue to cook for approximately 25 minutes, or until the meat is fully cooked through.

Remove the excess fat from the skillet and stir in the remaining 3/4 cup of tomato soup, water, and mustard. Place a layer of mozzarella cheese on top and let the sauce simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, occasionally stirring it to prevent burning.
