- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
- salt to taste
- 2 cups peeled and cubed turnips
- 2/3 cup hot water
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar

Preheat your cooking vessel by heating oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Next, add the onion and cook while stirring until it becomes soft, taking around 10 minutes to achieve this.

Subsequently, incorporate the ginger-garlic paste and chile peppers into the saucepan and cook until you notice a pleasant aroma, approximately 1 minute later.

Following that, combine the tomatoes, coriander, cumin, turmeric, and salt in the saucepan; ensure everything is well mixed.

Then, add turnips and hot water to the mixture in the saucepan; stir everything together.

Once boiling, decrease the heat and let it simmer until the turnips are tender, which can take anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes.
