  • 1/2 cup unpopped popcorn
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 5 cups miniature marshmallows

Heat a substantial amount of oil in a 4-quart saucepan over extremely high heat, then carefully add popcorn kernels to the hot oil. Cover the pan and cook until popping ceases, frequently shaking the pot in an attempt to distribute the heat evenly. Remove from heat and pour the cooked popcorn into the prepared dish.
