Ingredients
- 1/4 cup lightly packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon fresh-ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 (6 ounce) boneless pork loin chops
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard
Instructions
1
Combine the dry ingredients of brown sugar, black pepper, onion powder, paprika, and salt in a bowl. Coat the pork chops evenly with this mixture by gently massaging it onto their surface. Store the coated pork chops in a covered container and refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to penetrate deeply.
2
Position an oven rack approximately 6 inches away from the heat source and preheat the oven to its highest temperature setting. This will allow you to achieve a nice, caramelized crust on the pork chops.
3
Carefully place the coated pork chops onto a slotted broiler pan that consists of two pieces. In a small bowl, whisk together the ingredients of maple syrup and mustard until well combined.
4
Place the pork chops under the preheated broiler for 5 minutes, then flip them over to ensure even cooking. Continue broiling for another 5 minutes. During this time, brush the pork chops with a sweet and tangy glaze that you have prepared by whisking together maple syrup and mustard.
5
Flip the pork chops over again and brush them with the glaze once more. Continue to broil until the pork chops reach your desired level of doneness, which should take about 1 minute. Remove the pork chops from the oven and transfer them to serving plates.
6
To add a finishing touch, spoon some additional glaze over the top of each pork chop. This will not only add flavor but also a visually appealing presentation to your dish.
