Ingredients
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- ground black pepper to taste
- 1 pound thick-cut bacon
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of three fifty degrees Fahrenheit, or one seventy five degrees Celsius.
2
Mix together equal parts brown sugar and rice vinegar in a small bowl, adding a drizzle of maple syrup and a pinch of black pepper to enhance the flavor.
3
Arrange slices of crispy bacon on a wire rack suspended above a baking sheet, allowing for even air circulation during the cooking process.
4
Bake the bacon in the preheated oven for ten minutes, then flip the slices and continue baking for an additional five minutes.
5
Remove the bacon from the oven, and brush both sides with a sweet and sticky mixture created by combining brown sugar, rice vinegar, maple syrup, and black pepper.
6
Replace the bacon on the baking sheet, and return it to the oven for another five minutes.
7
Continue to baste the bacon with the brown sugar mixture every five minutes, until it reaches a perfectly browned and crispy state, approximately thirty-five minutes total.
