Ingredients
- 3 pounds ground beef
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 12 hamburger buns, split
Instructions
1
Break ground beef and finely chopped onion into a substantial skillet over a moderately high heat setting. Cook, constantly stirring to disperse clumps, until the meat is no longer pink in color. Remove excess fat from the skillet and reheat the mixture on the stovetop. Add the Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, salt, pepper, and butter to the skillet. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, then decrease the heat to a low simmer and let cook uncovered until almost all of the liquid has evaporated, approximately 40 minutes.
2
Take the skillet off the heat source. Cover it and allow the mixture to rest for 15 minutes before presenting on toasted buns
