Lemongrass Beef Skewers
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped lemon grass
  • 1 onion, coarsely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
Instructions
1
Heat up your outdoor grill to a medium-high temperature, making sure it's nice and hot before proceeding.
2
Next, take some oil and lightly brush the grill grates to prevent sticking. This will ensure a smooth cooking process.
3
Now, combine lemon grass, onion, and garlic in the container of an electric blender or food processor. Close the lid and blend or process until they're finely chopped, taking about 10 seconds to achieve this.
4
Transfer the lemon grass mixture into a bowl and mix in beef, salt, pepper, sugar, cornstarch, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Combine these ingredients thoroughly.
5
Use your hands to shape the mixture into 12 evenly sized meatballs.
6
Thread these meatballs onto skewers, making sure they're secure and won't fall off during cooking.
7
Place the meatballs on the preheated grill and cook until they're well done, flipping them over every 7 minutes or so.
8
To check if the meatballs are cooked, insert an instant-read thermometer into the center of one of them. The internal temperature should read 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
