Lemon Soy Grilled Salmon

  • 1 1/2 pounds salmon fillets
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 pinch salt to taste

Combine lemon juice, grated lemon peel, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic and olive oil in a 9x13-inch glass baking dish until the sugar has fully incorporated, approximately 2 minutes.

Place the fish fillets skin side down in the mixture and refrigerate for a period of 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Heat up an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly brush the grates with oil.

Place the salmon fillets on the preheated grill, discarding the marinade in the process.

Cook the salmon until it breaks apart easily with a fork, taking around 6 to 8 minutes.
