- 1 cup basmati rice, rinsed
- 1 (2 inch) piece fresh ginger, minced
- 1 lemon, juiced and zested
- 2 cups chicken broth
- salt and ground black pepper to taste

Preheat your cooking vessel by warming the oil over a moderate temperature; introduce rice, ginger, and lemon peel into the pot and cook for approximately 1 minute. Introduce a splash of lemon juice and chicken broth; stir until the mixture reaches a rolling boil. Cover your pot; allow it to gently simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the liquid has been fully absorbed and the rice is tender. Finish with a pinch of salt and pepper to taste
