Lemon Garlic Bay Scallops
Ingredients
  • 1/2 pound bay scallops, or more to taste
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup chopped onions
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 pinch salt
Instructions
1
Clean the scallops thoroughly by rinsing them under cold running water, then gently pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
2
Preheat the outdoor grill to a medium heat setting and lightly brush the grill grate with oil to prevent sticking.
3
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, then add sliced onions and minced garlic; cook until they become soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in freshly squeezed lemon juice and a pinch of salt.
4
Place the scallops in a large bowl and toss them with the butter mixture. Allow the scallops to marinate for about 2 minutes.
5
Remove the scallops from the butter mixture, reserving any excess in the bowl. Cook the scallops on the preheated grill using a wire grill basket until they turn golden brown, tossing them occasionally for even cooking, 3 to 4 minutes.
6
Meanwhile, return the butter mixture to the frying pan and bring it to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to low and keep the butter mixture warm while the scallops cook. Toss the grilled scallops in the warm butter mixture and serve immediately.
