Lemon Cream Panna Cotta
Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 (.25 ounce) package powdered gelatin (such as Knox®)
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon zest, divided
  • 1 tablespoon orange liqueur (such as Grand Marnier®)
Instructions
1
Start by placing the lemon juice in a small bowl and sprinkling the unflavored gelatin over it. Allow this mixture to sit for approximately 15 minutes, giving the gelatin sufficient time to soften and become pliable.
2
Next, combine heavy cream, sugar, and 2 tablespoons of lemon zest in a saucepan that is heated over medium-low heat. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally until it reaches this point.
3
Once the cream mixture has reached the desired temperature, whisk in the gelatin mixture until it is fully dissolved and incorporated. Remove the saucepan from the heat source and stir in the orange liqueur.
4
Carefully pour the cream mixture into a medium-sized bowl, dividing it evenly among several small glass bowls or ramekins.
5
Place the uncovered panna cottas in the refrigerator to set, allowing them to remain there for at least 4 hours. If possible, cover the bowls with plastic wrap and chill them overnight to achieve optimal results.
6
Finally, garnish your panna cottas with the remaining lemon zest before serving.
