Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon anise extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
- 3 large eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons multicolored candy sprinkles, or to taste
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
Take butter and sugar, and mix them together until you achieve a smooth consistency. Introduce anise extract and lemon extract to the mixture, stirring well to incorporate.
3
Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt until they are well combined. Then, gradually add the dry ingredients to your butter mixture, stirring until you reach a dough that is almost crumbly but still holds its shape when formed into small balls.
4
Form the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
5
Place the cookie sheet in the preheated oven and bake until the edges are set and golden, approximately 15 minutes.
6
Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool for a short time on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely, also taking around 15 minutes.
7
Simultaneously, combine powdered sugar and milk in a bowl to create a glaze. Once the cookies have cooled, use this glaze to coat them and top with sprinkles.
