Ingredients
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh lavender
- 6 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1
Heat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees Celsius). \nSpray some non-stick cooking spray and dust a 9x5 inch rectangular baking container with flour to prevent sticking.\nCombine the milk and dried lavender buds in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a gentle boil, then take the saucepan off the heat and let it sit for a few minutes until it cools down slightly.\nIn a separate bowl, use an electric mixer to blend the butter and sugar until they form a smooth paste. Add the egg one at a time, beating continuously until the mixture becomes light and airy. Mix in the dry ingredients - flour, baking powder, and salt - by alternating them with the milk and lavender mixture until just combined. \nPour the batter into the prepared baking container. \nPlace the container in a preheated oven and bake for 50 minutes, or until a wooden stick inserted into the top of the loaf comes out clean. \nRemove the loaf from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack in its original container.
