Ingredients
- 1 (1 ounce) package dried brown seaweed
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1/4 pound beef top sirloin, minced
- 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 6 cups water
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
Instructions
1
Start by submerging the seaweed in a container and immersing it in water. Allow it to become tender, which typically takes anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes. Remove the seaweed from the water and cut it into smaller, manageable pieces.
2
Next, heat a small amount of sesame oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the beef and a tiny bit of soy sauce, along with some salt; cook and stir for about 1 minute. Introduce the drained seaweed into the saucepan, along with the remaining soy sauce; cook and stir constantly for another minute.
3
Now, add a substantial amount of water to the saucepan - 2 cups should do. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, then stir in some minced garlic and the remaining 4 cups of water. Allow the mixture to boil once more, then cover the saucepan and lower the heat. Let it simmer for 20 minutes before adding a pinch of salt to season it, and serve.
