- 2/3 cup any flavor fruit jam

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit (150 degrees Celsius). Coat two baking trays with a non-stick cooking spray and put them aside for now.

In one small bowl, thoroughly mix egg white until it becomes smooth. Place chopped walnuts in another small container.

Using an electric mixer, combine softened butter, brown sugar, and egg yolk in a mixing bowl until they become light and airy, taking approximately 2 minutes to achieve this.

Gradually add flour, vanilla extract, and salt; mix until the ingredients are well incorporated.

Form dough into 1 1/2-inch balls. Dip each ball in the egg white mixture, then coat it evenly with chopped walnuts. Place these walnut-coated balls 2 inches apart on the prepared baking trays.

Take cookies out of the oven. Using your thumb, gently press an indentation in the center of each cookie to create a small well. Fill this well with jam until it's completely filled.
