Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon, or more to taste, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 (28 ounce) cans baked beans
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoons minced jalapeno pepper
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon mustard powder
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature, which is 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
In a large skillet, cook the bacon over high heat, stirring occasionally, until it starts to release its fat and becomes crispy, approximately 2-3 minutes. Add the onion to the skillet and continue cooking until it's tender and the bacon is fully cooked, taking around 7-10 minutes.
3
In a separate bowl, combine the baked beans, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, prepared mustard, jalapeño, chili powder, and mustard powder. Mix well until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.
4
Add the cooked bacon mixture to the bowl with the bean mixture and stir until everything is well combined.
5
Pour the entire mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish and place it in the preheated oven.
6
Bake for a period of time that will allow the liquid to thicken, which is typically between 45-55 minutes.
