Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 cup Italian-style bread crumbs
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 (14 ounce) jar marinara sauce, divided
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or equivalently, 175 degrees Celsius.
2
In a spacious bowl, merge the ground turkey with bread crumbs, eggs, finely chopped onion, grated Parmesan cheese, and a pinch of black pepper. Thoroughly mix in 1 cup of marinara sauce to create a cohesive blend.
3
Using your hands, gently press the turkey mixture firmly into an 8x4-inch loaf pan. Make sure to apply even pressure to achieve a uniform shape.
4
Next, pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top of the turkey mixture to add moisture and flavor.
5
Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit, or at least 70 degrees Celsius when checked with an instant-read thermometer. This should take approximately 1 hour.
6
Once the meatloaf is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
