Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) package farfalle (bow tie) pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound bulk Italian sausage
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 bunch broccoli rabe, trimmed
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1
Boil a large amount of salted water in a massive vessel over extremely high heat until it reaches its maximum temperature. Introduce the farfalle pasta into the boiling water and cook until it has reached a satisfactory level of firmness, taking between 8 to 10 minutes; remove from the water.
2
Simultaneously, heat a substantial quantity of olive oil in a large cooking vessel over medium-high heat. Incorporate the Italian sausage into the hot oil and continue to cook until it has lost its original color and texture, roughly 5 minutes. Introduce the garlic into the mixture and continue cooking until the sausage begins to darken in color, approximately 5 minutes longer. Discard any excess oil that has accumulated at the bottom of the skillet, then introduce a substantial amount of chicken broth and red pepper flakes into the mixture. Bring the liquid to a rolling boil over extremely high heat, then add the broccoli rabe and cover the vessel. Cook until the broccoli rabe has reached a tender state, taking around 4 minutes.
3
Once the broccoli rabe is cooked to perfection, stir in a generous amount of butter, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper until the meat sauce has thickened to a satisfactory consistency. Combine the cooked pasta with the meat sauce and serve immediately
