- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 medium red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 Hoagie or sub rolls

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, sautéing sliced sausage until browned, about 5 minutes.

Next, add sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet and continue cooking until they become soft and tender, approximately 10 minutes.

After that, add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Subsequently, pour in canned tomatoes and sprinkle some red pepper flakes into the skillet; stir constantly until the mixture is warm throughout, roughly 5 minutes.
