- 3 green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 (15 ounce) cans green beans, drained
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can Italian-style diced tomatoes
- 1 pinch dried basil
- 1 pinch dried oregano
- 1/4 cup brown sugar

Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until it reaches a satisfying crunch. Transfer the cooked bacon to a paper towel-lined surface to drain excess moisture, setting it aside for later use. Reserve the rendered fat in the skillet and sauté the onions over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until they become tender. Introduce the garlic into the skillet and cook for approximately 30 seconds to allow its flavors to meld. Remove the skillet from the heat source.

In a separate cooking vessel, bring together the green beans, tomatoes, basil, oregano, and brown sugar. Incorporate the cooked bacon into this mixture, along with the sautéed onions and garlic from the skillet. Warm this combination over medium heat until it reaches a uniform temperature, approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
