Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup raisins
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius, if you prefer).
2
Next, take a 9x5 inch loaf pan and give it a good coating of non-stick spray to prevent the bread from sticking. I like to use a glass loaf pan for this recipe.
3
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the butter and sugar until they're well mixed and smooth.
4
Add one egg at a time, beating it in thoroughly before adding the next. Once you've added all your eggs, stir in the sour cream.
5
Then, take a separate bowl and whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
6
Gradually add this dry mixture to the sour cream mixture, stirring until everything is just combined.
7
Finally, fold in your raisins and transfer the batter to your prepared loaf pan.
8
Bake the bread in a preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until you insert a small knife into the center of the loaf and it comes out clean.
