Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups diced celery
- 2 cups diced white onion
- 1 teaspoon rubbed sage
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups low-sodium chicken broth, or more to taste
- 2 (10 ounce) packages cubed seasoned stuffing
- 2 ounces water chestnuts, drained and diced
- 1 teaspoon butter
Instructions
1
Begin by activating your pressure cooker and switching it to the Sauté mode. Next, melt 1 cup of butter in the cooking vessel. Add celery, onion, sage, thyme, and a pinch of pepper to the pot, stirring constantly for 2 minutes.
2
After that, pour in 1 1/2 cups of broth into the pot and mix everything together. Immediately cancel the cooking cycle.
3
In a separate bowl, combine cubed stuffing with water chestnuts to create a mixture. Then, pour the sautéed celery mixture from the pressure cooker into this bowl and stir to combine. If you prefer a moist stuffing, add up to 1/2 cup more broth.
4
Now, grease a round casserole dish measuring 1 1/2 quarts and 7 1/2 inches in diameter with 1 teaspoon of butter. Spoon the stuffing mixture into the dish, but don't pack it in tightly.
5
Subsequently, pour 1 cup of water into the pressure cooker. Place a trivet in the pot to elevate it. Carefully place your casserole dish on top of this trivet.
6
Close and lock the lid of the pressure cooker. According to your manufacturer's instructions, select high pressure and set a timer for 10 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for the pressure to build up.
7
Finally, release the pressure using the natural-release method as instructed by your manufacturer. This process may take 15 to 20 minutes.
