Instructions
1
Combine the following spices in a small bowl:
2
chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, oregano, cocoa powder, cumin, cinnamon, coriander, and black pepper.
3
Set the seasoning blend aside momentarily.
4
Next, activate a versatile pressure cooking device such as an Instant Pot and choose the Saute function.
5
Heat a generous amount of olive oil over high heat and cook ground turkey until it reaches a crumbly state, taking around 3 to 4 minutes.
6
Introduce an onion and jalapeno into the pot and continue cooking for another 2 to 3 minutes.
7
Add tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato sauce, chipotle pepper, and the previously prepared seasoning mix.
8
Mix all ingredients together thoroughly, making sure to scrape up any residue left at the bottom of the pot.
9
Close and secure the lid of the pressure cooker.
10
Follow the manufacturer's guidelines to set the high-pressure function, and schedule a 20-minute cooking time.
11
Allow for an additional 10 to 15 minutes before the pressure builds up.
12
Carefully release the built-up pressure using the quick-release method as indicated by the manufacturer's instructions, approximately 5 minutes.
13
Unlock and remove the lid from the pressure cooker.
14
Stir the chili mixture to combine, and if necessary, adjust the seasoning with a pinch of salt.
15
Serve the chili hot, accompanied by your preferred toppings.
