Ingredients
- 4 (4 ounce) slices of pork tenderloin, cut across the grain
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup peanut oil for frying
- 4 kaiser rolls, split
- 4 teaspoons mayonnaise, or as needed
- 4 teaspoons ketchup, or as needed
- 4 teaspoons prepared yellow mustard, or as needed
- 4 slices dill pickle
- 4 slices onion
- 4 slices tomato
- 4 leaves lettuce
Instructions
1
Collect all necessary ingredients for the dish.
2
Take each pork slice and flatten it by placing it between two sturdy plastic sheets, then use a meat mallet to pound it until it reaches 1/4-inch thickness and measures approximately 3 1/2 inches in width by 5 inches in length.
3
In a shallow bowl, combine egg and milk, whisking them together until smooth. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoned salt, marjoram, and oregano to the bowl, stirring until all the ingredients are well incorporated. Place bread crumbs in another shallow dish.
4
Dip each flattened pork slice into the egg mixture, coating it thoroughly, then roll it in bread crumbs to coat evenly. Arrange the coated cutlets on a single layer of parchment or waxed paper.
5
In a large skillet, heat oil until it starts to shimmer. Gently place the coated cutlets into the hot oil and fry them until they're golden brown, taking about 4 minutes per side to achieve this.
6
Using a paper towel, remove excess oil from the fried cutlets. Set aside.
7
Preheat your oven to its highest temperature setting, with a rack positioned about 6 inches away from the heat source. Place kaiser rolls, split-sides up, onto a baking sheet.
8
Place the baking sheet under the preheated oven broiler and toast the kaiser rolls until they're hot and lightly browned, taking about 1 minute to achieve this.
9
Remove the toasted rolls from the oven and assemble the sandwiches by placing a fried cutlet on each roll bottom. Add your desired toppings in any order, such as mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle, onion, tomato, and lettuce. Top each sandwich with a roll top.
10
Serve the sandwiches immediately.
