Ingredients
- 4 pods green cardamom
- 1 cup milk
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 teaspoon semolina
- 1/2 cup dry milk powder
Instructions
1
Crush the cardamom pods using the blunt edge of a knife to release their fragrant oils. Mix the crushed cardamom with milk, egg, sugar, shortening, semolina, and dry milk powder in a thick-walled saucepan. Thoroughly blend the ingredients together to create a uniform mixture, then heat over low temperatures, stirring occasionally until the eggs become thicker and more solid.
2
Continue to cook the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly and attentively until it turns a rich brown color, and the shortening begins to break apart. This process should take around an hour. Remove the cardamom pods from the mixture and serve it hot, straight from the saucepan.
