- 1 1/2 cups sour cream

Combine the crushed tomatoes, tomatillos, diced jalapeno pepper, and minced garlic in a saucepan; heat it over high, then decrease the temperature to low and let it simmer gently until the tomatoes and tomatillos become tender, taking around 10-15 minutes.

Remove the saucepan from the heat source and allow the tomato mixture to cool down slightly, losing its heat.

Transfer the cooled-down tomato mixture into a blender pitcher; add sliced avocado, chopped cilantro, and a pinch of salt. Blend the mixture until it reaches a smooth consistency; transfer the result to a serving dish.
