Ingredients
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 cup water
- 1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
- 1 1/2 cups salsa
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to a high temperature of three seventy-five degrees Fahrenheit, or one ninety zero degrees Celsius.
2
Spread a generous amount of softened cream cheese evenly across the bottom of an eight by eight-inch baking dish.
3
In a large skillet, cook and stir ground beef over medium-high heat until it is browned and fully cooked through, taking anywhere from five to ten minutes. Add water and a packet of taco seasoning; stir until well combined.
4
Simply let the mixture simmer for several minutes, allowing most of the liquid to evaporate and leaving a thick, rich consistency.
5
Spread the meat mixture evenly across the cream cheese layer in the baking dish. Pour a generous amount of salsa over the top.
6
Top the dip with shredded Cheddar cheese to add an extra layer of flavor and texture.
7
Place the taco dip in the preheated oven and bake until it is hot, bubbly, and the cheese is melted, taking approximately twenty minutes.
