Ingredients
- 8 (5 ounce) bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
Instructions
1
Collect all necessary components.
2
Preheat the oven to a high temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
3
Sprinkle chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
4
Melt two tablespoons of butter in a large oven-safe pan over medium-high heat. Place chicken, skin-side down, and sear until it develops a golden brown color, 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Transfer chicken to a plate.
5
Melt the remaining one tablespoon of butter in the pan, stirring constantly to release any browned residue on the bottom. Add garlic; cook and stir until it emits a pleasant aroma, approximately thirty seconds. Combine brown sugar, honey, oregano, thyme, and basil in the pan until they blend harmoniously. Turn off the heat and return chicken to the pan, skin-side down.
6
Bake in the preheated oven until the chicken is no longer pink at the bone and the juices flow freely, 25 to 40 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted near the bone should read 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius).
7
Drizzle the pan sauce over chicken thighs when serving.
