Honey BBQ Bacon Burger
Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons steak seasoning
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 3/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 8 thick slices bacon, cooked crisp
  • 8 frozen onion rings, prepared according to package directions
  • 4 slices BordenĀ® American Cheese Singles
  • 4 slices tomato
  • Fresh lettuce
Instructions
1
Combine the ground beef, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and a pinch of heat from cayenne pepper to create 4 uniform patties. Coat both sides of the patties with a generous amount of steak seasoning, allowing the flavors to meld together. Refrigerate the patties for several hours ahead of time if desired, as they can be prepared in advance.
2
Meanwhile, toast the buns by brushing them with a generous amount of melted butter. Set the buns aside, ready for assembly.
3
In a small bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce and honey to create a sweet and tangy glaze. This mixture will add an extra layer of flavor to the burgers.
4
Heat up the grill to a medium-high temperature, allowing it to reach the optimal heat for grilling burgers. Grill the patties to an internal temperature of 160 degrees F (71 degrees C), cooking them for approximately 4 to 6 minutes per side. Two minutes before the burgers are finished, grill the buns on the buttered side until they're golden brown and crispy.
5
Add a slice of American cheese to each burger, allowing it to melt into the juicy patty.
6
Assemble the burgers by placing them on a buttered bun, topping each one with 2 slices of crispy bacon, some crunchy onion rings, a drizzle of the sweet and tangy glaze, a handful of fresh lettuce, and a juicy tomato slice.
