Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups margarine
- 3 cups white sugar
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rice flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 6 room-temperature eggs
- 2 cups lukewarm milk
- 2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
To prepare the baking dish, lightly grease and dust it with flour to prevent sticking.
3
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the margarine and 3 cups of sugar until it reaches a light and airy consistency. Then, one at a time, add the eggs to the mixture, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next.
4
In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, rice flour, and baking powder. Gradually add these dry ingredients to the mixture in three parts, alternating with milk and stirring well after each addition.
5
Stir in the Parmesan cheese until it is fully incorporated into the batter.
6
Transfer the batter to the prepared baking dish and smooth out the top.
7
In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour, and sesame seeds.
8
Sprinkle the sugar-flour-seed mixture evenly over the batter in the cake pan.
9
Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
10
Allow the cake to cool completely before cutting it into squares.
