  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 2 pounds ground pork

Collect all the necessary ingredients beforehand.

Combine brown sugar, sage, salt, black pepper, marjoram, red pepper flakes, and cloves in a small bowl until they are fully incorporated.

Put the pork into a large bowl. Add the spice mixture and use your hands to mix it in thoroughly until everything is well combined.

Shape the mixture into 6 patties using your hands.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties in the skillet and cook until they are browned and crispy, taking about 5 minutes per side. To ensure the pork is cooked to a safe temperature, insert an instant-read thermometer into the center of one of the patties and check that it reads at least 160 degrees F (71 degrees C).
