High-Protein Tuna Pasta Salad
Ingredients
  • 1 (12 ounce) package bow-tie pasta
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans flaked tuna, drained
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh dill
  • 1/4 cup grated carrot
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, or more to taste
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
1
Begin by filling a substantial container with salted water and placing it on high heat until the water reaches its boiling point.
2
Then, cook pasta in the boiling salted water for approximately 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
3
Next, add frozen peas to the boiling pasta and continue cooking for an additional 2 minutes.
4
After that, immediately drain the pasta and peas from the boiling water using a colander or strainer.
5
To stop the cooking process, quickly submerge the pasta and peas in an ice bath by rinsing them with cold water.
6
Transfer the cooled pasta and peas to a large serving container.
7
Mix in canned tuna, diced celery, chopped green onion, dried dill weed, and grated carrot until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
8
Meanwhile, combine mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
9
Finally, blend the mayonnaise mixture into the pasta and tuna mixture until everything is well combined.
