Heinz Sweet and Sour Meatballs
Ingredients
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup soft, fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2/3 cup Heinz® Chili Sauce
  • 2/3 cup red currant jelly
Instructions
1
First, preheat your oven to the optimal temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 180 degrees Celsius for those using metric measurements). This will ensure a perfectly cooked dish.
2
Next, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, milk, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Use a gentle blending motion to ensure the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
3
Then, shape the mixture into approximately 40 small, bite-sized meatballs. These will be the foundation of your dish.
4
After that, place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and rimmed with an edge. This will make cleanup easier.
5
Now, bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until they reach a fully cooked state. This will take some time, but the end result is well worth it.
6
While the meatballs are baking, combine chili sauce and jelly in a saucepan set over medium heat. Stir the mixture constantly until the jelly has fully dissolved, which should take around 5 minutes.
7
Once the jelly has dissolved, add the cooked meatballs to the saucepan and reduce the heat to a lower setting. Simmer the mixture for an additional 10 minutes, allowing all the flavors to meld together.
