- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon curry powder
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 cups reduced-sodium beef broth
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 1 cup red lentils
- salt and ground black pepper to taste

Preheat a large cooking vessel, such as a pan or wok, over a medium-high heat setting. Introduce the beef and onions into the vessel; cook and stir constantly until the onion reaches a deep brown color and the beef loses its pink hue, taking approximately 5 to 7 minutes. Add a blend of spices, including curry powder and cinnamon; thoroughly mix the ingredients together. Introduce beef broth into the mixture and bring it to a rolling boil.

Combine cooked rice and lentils with the beef mixture. Decrease the heat, cover the vessel, and allow it to simmer until all liquid has been absorbed, taking around 20 minutes. Season the dish with salt and pepper to taste.
