Hawaiian Crab and Cheese Wontons
Ingredients
  • 1 quart oil for frying, or as needed
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (12 ounce) package imitation crabmeat, flaked
  • 1 (5 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
  • 5 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 (14 ounce) packages wonton wrappers
Instructions
1
Heat oil in a substantial, thick-walled cooking vessel to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
2
Combine cream cheese, crabmeat, water chestnuts, green onions, and soy sauce in a modest-sized container to create a harmonious blend.
3
Position approximately 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper, then fold it into a triangle shape and seal the edges with dampened fingers.
4
Prepare wontons in small batches, carefully submerging them into the hot oil until they turn golden brown, approximately 3 to 4 minutes. Utilize a slotted spoon to remove the wontons and drain them on paper towels.
