Ham and Cheese Frittata with Potatoes
Ingredients
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 potatoes, cubed
  • 1/2 cup cubed fully cooked ham
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup water, or as needed
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions
1
Position the oven rack approximately six inches away from the heat source and set the broiler to its highest setting.
2
In a separate container, whisk together eggs and milk until well combined; place this mixture to one side.
3
In a large oven-safe skillet, melt butter over medium heat and cook the potatoes, diced ham, sautéed onion, and minced garlic in the melted butter until the potatoes are tender, approximately 15 minutes. If the vegetables start to dry out, add a small amount of water to prevent this from happening. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to enhance the flavors.
4
Pour the egg mixture over the vegetable mixture in the skillet. Allow it to cook undisturbed until the bottom is slightly browned, a process that should take around 5 minutes.
5
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and continue cooking until the eggs are almost fully set, which should take another 5 minutes. Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese over the eggs and return the skillet to the oven, where it will continue cooking until the frittata is fully set and the cheese is melted, taking an additional 5 minutes.
