Halloween Spider Hot Dogs

  • 1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup, or to taste

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, or 190 degrees Celsius, for optimal results.

Unroll the crescent dough and use your fingers or a utensil to separate it into individual triangles. Press down on the center perforation of each triangle, creating four rectangular shapes.

Cut these rectangles in half lengthwise, resulting in eight long, thin strips.

Make a 2-inch incision along the center of one end of each hot dog, cutting all the way through. Slice two more 2-inch incisions on either side of this initial cut, creating three equal-sized "legs" for each hot dog. Repeat the process on the other end of each hot dog, cutting "legs" from all remaining dogs.

Wrap a single crescent strip around the center of each hot dog, securing it firmly in place. Arrange spider dogs on an ungreased baking sheet.

Bake the spider dogs in your preheated oven for approximately 11 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

Using a chopstick, dip it into some ketchup and use the tip to create small dots for "eyes" on each spider dog. Serve with additional ketchup, if desired.
