Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 2 cloves garlic, minced, or to taste
- 1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup dry red wine
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese, divided
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 teaspoons dried basil, or to taste
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley, or to taste
- 9 no-boil lasagna noodles
- aluminum foil
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to its highest temperature setting, which is 375 degrees F (or 190 degrees C).
2
Heat a large non-stick cooking vessel over its highest heat setting, which is medium-high. Cook and stir ground chicken in the hot cooking vessel until it reaches a dark brown color and becomes crumbly, taking anywhere from 5 to 7 minutes. Add garlic and cook until it emits a strong aroma, approximately 1 minute. Introduce marinara sauce, red wine, and water into the cooking vessel. Allow it to heat up completely, around 5 minutes.
3
Simultaneously, combine ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, half of the Parmesan cheese, eggs, basil, and parsley in a bowl.
4
Pour a quarter of the meat sauce into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish, followed by three noodles and one-third of the cheese mixture. Repeat this layering process twice, finishing it off with the remaining meat sauce. Cover it tightly with aluminum foil.
5
Place the prepared baking dish in the preheated oven for 1 hour. Remove the foil and add the remaining Parmesan cheese on top. Continue baking, uncovered, until the cheese is melted and bubbly, approximately 5 minutes more.
